Tentative Agreement on a First Union Contract
Onward… to Ratification! Job Security, Longevity Steps, and 16-55% Raises Our marathon final bargaining session yesterday took a whopping 10 hours, but resulted in an historic first contract for the Dominican Adjunct Faculty Union. The next step is to present it to the members for an up or down ratification vote to take place very soon. Please be prepared to vote in the next couple of weeks, so that we can implement the contract for the fall term. More information on voting is coming shortly. The last signature, on the last tentative agreement (TA) was put to paper just before 7pm Wednesday April 14, in the small conference room at Guzman hall. Significant Gains
Next steps: Ratification and getting organized for a new era. Now our contract must be ratified by a vote of our membership. Watch your email for details on how you can participate in this historic election to ratify your union contract, sign up as a member of SEIU Local 1021, and continue building the Dominican Adjunct Faculty Union. Join us in voting “yes.” The bargaining team unanimously recommends a YES vote to ratify the agreement.
